General of Austrian army who stayed in Lanškroun during the third year of 7-years war between Prussia and Austria (1756-1763). Close to Žichlínek, his troops besieged and captured Prussian supplying convoy and then successfully attacked Kladsko. Today’s village of Mezilesí was named after Laudon and up to now, hill with the most beautiful view to Lanškroun Basin is called after him.

Founder of one of the most famous family in Lanškroun, immigrant of Hannover, chemist, pharmacist and botanist; in 1794, he founded the first pharmacy in Lanškroun. He expanded manufacture producing canvas so he provided his goods right to Germany, Hungary, Italy and Turkey. Manufacture perished in the middle of 19th century. Christian Erxleben participated in activity of Patriotic-Economic Association in Prague, he is author of professional document about bleaching of canvas and publication Delicacy and Power of Beer (1817) that is very interesting up to now.

Native of Lanškroun, the youngest of seven children of stationer and bookseller. In 1882, he took school-leaving examination at local grammar school, then he entered Augustinian monastery and started his great career of Roman Catholic priest (teacher of theological institute, provost of monastery, duke archbishop, bishop of Vienna and since 1914 cardinal). He has never lost his sincere relationship to his birthplace and its grammar school, he participated most of important events and jubilee.

Native of Ústí nad Orlicí, he attended grammar school in Lanškroun, he studied clerical seminar in Hradec Králové and later he studied history of art in Rome. He crowned his scientific career as professor at Charles University and at Theological Faculty in Litoměřice, and as director of National Gallery (since 1939) and acting chairman of International Committee for History of Art. Publication “Listing of monuments of Bohemia and Moravia in Lanškroun district” is the most interesting and the most important of his entire extensive art historical work.

Legendary goalkeeper of LTC Prague and Czechoslovak representation. He made regulating plan of development of the town that is very inspirational up to now. After WWII., he lived with his family in Lanškroun, up to 1948. In 1950’s, he was kept in prison in communist labor camps (after well-known legal process with ice-hockey representatives).
