Josef CibulkaHe attended grammar school in Lanškroun, clerical seminar in Hradec Králové, for 5 years he studied history of art in Rome and he also graduated there. Since 1910, he has worked as associate professor in theological seminar in Hradec Králové. He was episcopal usher and secretary. Since 1919 he has been professor at University in Bratislava.

He studied also in France. In 1921, he get degree of Doctor of Arts in Prague. He became professor of history of art at University in Prague and professor of Theological Faculty in Litoměřice.

In 1939, he was appointed director of National Gallery. In 1945, he was chief of Czechoslovak and acting chairman of International Committee for History of Art.

We are thankful for his work “Listing of monuments of Bohemia and Moravia in Lanškroun district” about sacred architecture of Bohemia and Moravia and history of art and art handicraft.
