Natural Park “Lanškrounské rybníky” (Lanškrounsko Ponds). This park was established in 1990 as rest area according to act no. 40/1956 Coll. Natural park is situated westward from Lanškroun, in pond system of Ostrovský Brook area. This park includes Olšový, Pšeničkův, Slunečný and Plockův Ponds with surrounding forest plantation in area of 243 ha. It follows in recreationally used zone of Dlouhý Pond with wide range of accommodation and aquatic sports; other ponds offer calm places for fishing.
Lanškrounsko Ponds area is important roost of waterfowl and important bird of passage stopover. We can find here some significant protected species, e.g. common snipe, little bittern, black and white stork, common golden eye, water rail, fish eagle, great reed warbler and many duck species. We can find here also common river crayfish, alpine newt, common toad and green toad, European tree frog and other species of amphibians. Flora is typical for damp sites, water-logged meadows and litoral zone of water areas. We can find yellow flag, white water-lily, keyflower, buck bean, spring snowflake and other species growing here. Nature trail (used for ecological education for children from schools of this area) runs through Natural Park Lanškrounsko Ponds.
